Transloading is the transfer of freight from one mode of transport to another — railcar to trailer, trailer to railcar, or container to either. Done in the wrong place, it means double-handling, yard shuffles, and freight sitting idle. Done at our facility, it happens in a single, controlled move: our docks open onto the rail corridor, so goods cross straight from one mode to the next.
That directness is where the savings come from. Consolidating several inbound loads into fewer outbound ones, or breaking one bulk arrival into many smaller deliveries, lets you buy the cheapest linehaul for the long leg and the most flexible option for the short one — without paying to store freight in between.
